DART - a center for AT and AAC
DART is a team of speech and language pathologists, occupational therapists, educational consultants, computational linguist, technician and administrative personnel, all specialized within the field of AAC and AT.
As a team, DART has a long and broad experience of working with individuals with different disabilities and communication difficulties. DART also possesses considerable knowledge and expertise concerning the methodological and technical advancements that have taken place within the field of AAC and AT during the past 20 years.
DART’s objective is to develop and maintain the best possible knowledge base so that we can provide high quality services to stakeholders at different levels; persons in need of AAC and AT and their communication partners such as parents and other family members, support personnel and friends, teachers, other professionals, researchers and laymen.
All of the above mentioned activities concern persons with disabilities of different ages (preschool and young school age children, adolescents and adults) and different types of diagnoses. Our approach is functional and the perspectives of the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF) are well integrated with the different activities.
DART is organized under the Department of Neurology, Psychiatry and Habilitation of Sahlgrenska University, Gothenburg, Sweden.
